Trackmania and its successor Maniaplanet is one of those things, which I like to play sometimes. More about this game see http://maniaplanet.com.
The server can be controlled over a RPC interface which allows to extend to game in several ways. One can add features like a “jukebox” or a records management. Since a while I run my own servers to explore the possibilities.

In the beginning I’ve used a modified variant of Aseco/RASP by Mistral. Meanwhile XAseco with a connection to Dedimania and several plugins is in use. One result of my further “research” is a web site with a status display, track list and several statistics – see https://playground.arnowelzel.de.
