Internet connection with GPRS and PalmOS
If you are using a PalmOS based PDA, you can also use GPRS for an internet connection, when there is an appropriate mobile phone. I've tested this successfully with Snapper Mail on a Sony Clié N770C, a Siemens ME75 over a IrDA connection and T-Mobile. All settings are based on the english version of PalmOS 4.1 on the Clié. Generally it is portable to other combinations. It's crucial to use the number *99***1# and to set the mobile phone to GPRS mode with the appropriate init-string.
Instead of “internet.t-mobile.de” (that's the name of the APN) and the given IP-address for the DNS, specific settings are neccessary for other providers. If neccessary, ask the provider.
